Infrastructure

The Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology is located at the Heart Institute (InCor), which is part of the largest medical center* in Latin America, affiliated to the University of São Paulo Medical School, São Paulo, Brazil.

The laboratory is 1,200 square meters wide and offers complete infrastructure for research and development (R&D) in genetics and molecular cardiology, funded by federal (FINEP/CNPq) and state (FAPESP) development agencies. In addition, we have access to several specialized core facilities, animal core and a clinical research center in the hospital and other centers at the Medical School. We use integrated bottom-up and top-down approaches to identify genetic determinants associated with cardiovascular diseases and development of novel therapeutic approaches for cardiac repair. * Located at Pinheiros , São Paulo (SP).
