The strategy consists in providing a relaxed atmosphere in a comfortable venue to facilitate contact among participants, thus promoting the exchange of information and fostering future research collaboration.\n\nIn the last years, Brazil hosted some of the most important international congresses on glass: the XII International Conference on the Physics of Non-Crystalline Solids &amp; the 9th International Symposium on Crystallization in Glasses and Liquids, in Foz do Igua\u00e7u, PR, in 2009, and the International Congress on Glass, in Salvador, BA, in 2010.
