Adriana Castello Costa Girardi

Short Bio

Adriana C. Girardi received a B.A. in Pharmacology and Biochemistry (1996) and a Ph.D. (2002) in Physiology at University of São Paulo. From 2002 to 2005, she was a postdoctoral fellow in the Aronson lab (Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Nephrology, Yale University). Currently, she is a principal investigator in the Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology, Incor, HC-USP and Professor at FMUSP. She has experience in Renal Physiology, Cardiorenal Pharmacology and Biochemistry. Her major scientific interest is understanding blood pressure regulation and cardiovascular disease. Recently, her research group has investigated how therapies for diabetes affect cardiovascular disease progression and hypertension. javascript:void(0)
