Rogério Rosa
I have Ph.D. in Computer Science from Informatics Center of University Federal of Pernambuco (Cin-UFPE) with the thesis in Computational Biology field. In postgraduate studies, I investigated aspects of Haplotype Inference Problem when I proposed a technique to predict errors in the inference process. From 2017 to 2021, I was PCI bioinformatics scientist at Center for Strategic Technologies of Northeast (CETENE), a research unit of Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI) located at Recife (Brazil), which operates in the areas of biotechnology, nanotechnology, and microelectronics. At CETENE, I identifyied genomic variants, such as Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNPs), in microorganisms of biotechnological interest. In August of 2021, I started working at Heart Institute (InCor) of University of São Paulo Medical School (FMUSP) as bioinformatics scientist in genetics of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. My skills and interests include: big-data, biological databases, data warehouses, computer programming, statistical analysis, machine learning, high performance computing, molecular biology, genetic variants and downstream analysis.
