The Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology’s (LGCM) Computational Biology team is composed of multidisciplinary professionals, with alumni from the computer sciences, physics, biology, pharmacy, statistics, and medicine.

Among their main attributions is the application of computational analyses in molecular datasets, which support numerous projects developed by the Laboratory.

The group is also engaged in advancing knowledge frontiers, developing algorithms and methods to unveil the mechanisms involved in complex phenotypes related to cardiovascular diseases. Among the biological challenges studied by the team, we can highlight the following: population genetics, preventive medicine, gene expression regulation, omics integration, software platforms development – such as an interface for health and research professionals.
