The cell and tissue physiology rooms are the area inside the Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology dedicated exclusively to cell and tissue cultivation.

In LCGM there are two types of cell culture: one for the cultivation of human and animal cells and the other, with more strict environment control, for the cultivation of Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cells (hiPSCs) and tissue culture (explant).

Specifically, in this last room there is equipment that simulates changes in O2 concentration, mechanical forces and electrical stimuli found in blood vessels and in the heart. Both rooms are equipped with laminar flow hoods, incubators, water baths, benchtop centrifuges, phase and fluorescence microscopes.

They have a restricted access environment with asepsis and temperature control, in order to avoid contamination by microorganisms.
