Wet Laboratory
The general laboratory is a multi-user área inside the Laboratory of Genetics and Molecular Cardiology responsible for analyzing samples and results supporting research projects. This area is intended for the application of molecular and cellular biology techniques and various equipment and reagents are located there.
Among the activities carried out in the space, we highlight molecular biology techniques (protein quantification, RNA/DNA extraction, real-time PCR and PCR, large-scale genotyping, genome editing using the Crispr/Cas9 technique, gene expression global, among others).
Users are trained and qualified to perform their activities in accordance with biosafety standards and good laboratory practices. The general laboratory is equipped with benchtop homogenizers, microcentrifuges, thermal cyclers, gel documentation system, agarose and acrylamide gel electrophoresis system, DNA, RNA and protein quantifier (NanodropTM), plate reading system (SpectraMax®) , large-scale genotyping and expression system (GeneTitan™ MC) among others.
