She received her PhD in genetics from the Pennsylvania State University in 2012 and is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the laboratory of Professor Mark Shriver at Penn State. Her research investigates variation in normal-range human phenotypes and risk of complex disease, with a current focus on admixture mapping of preterm birth and hypertension in African Americans.She lives in Lemont, Pennsylvania with her husband, cat, and two chickens.
